Skirting Fleece

We work hard to provide our customers with the cleanest raw Corriedale fleece and ready to be spun or processed.

Here’s a YouTube link from a couple of years showing what we do for our final skirting. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes per fleece.

Our sheep wear coats through most of the year to reduce sun bleaching and to keep out dirt and vegetable matter. Each fleece is heavily skirted during the shearing process. After lambing season is finished we then take time to lay them out individually on a skirting table for a final careful cleaning to remove VM, greasy tags, and other dirt to make our raw fleece as clean as possible for customers.
